It has long been a dream of mine to be able to volunteer abroad, working and helping children who are in dire need of love, attention, education and so much more.
I now have the opportunity to do this in September of this year, when I will be travelling to Tanzania to work as a communitiy volunteer, in the schools, hospitals and orphanages.

Amongst many of the things I can do there is use my training in Musical Theatre to teach music and drama after school hours, which will hopefully help keep the kids off the streets and give them something to look forward to. As well as this, I will be educating them in how to keep themselves protected from the disease which has led them to be in the circumstances they now find they are in.

In the hospitals and orphanages I will be doing whatever is asked of me as we are told to go with an open mind, which therefore increases our flexibility, allowing us to be placed wherever we are going to be the most beneficial. I will be caring for children who have been orphaned by HIV/Aids and many more who have become 'street kids' due to this terrible disease.
